PRODUCT DESIGN
As the solo product designer for Tukshopp’s vendor platform, I collaborated closely with the product manager, engineers, and stakeholders to design a responsive, user-centric experience for our target audience. Through research and competitive analysis of both the Nigerian market and global industry standards, I created a robust design system to unify the Tukshopp experience across platforms. This approach allowed us to develop a product that stands out among top competitors in the delivery sector, addressing the unique needs of vendors across diverse business types.
Tukshopp is a delivery platform tailored to the Nigerian market, supporting various business types including restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, electronics stores, drinks vendors, grocery outlets, local markets, and more. This case study highlights the features and design solutions implemented to streamline vendor operations and ensure a seamless experience for managing outlets, inventory, and orders.
Tukshopp offers a seamless onboarding and KYC process for vendors, where they provide essential information and create their first outlet before approval. This ensures quick access to the platform while maintaining compliance and security, supporting a smooth start for vendors of all types.
The platform allows vendors to manage multiple outlets under one business account, even across different business types. Whether a vendor operates a restaurant, a pharmacy, or a grocery store, they can manage everything in one place, making Tukshopp versatile and scalable. This flexibility and scalability were key in making Tukshopp an attractive platform for large vendors.
Inventory was structured into three layers Categories > Items > Options to provide flexibility across various business types. For example, a restaurant might set categories for different meal types, while a supermarket could use them for product sections. This structure allowed vendors to intuitively organize their offerings, resulting in a streamlined inventory management experience. The interface was designed to prioritize ease of use, allowing vendors to update or add new items efficiently.
For the order management interface, I designed a stacked view that grouped ongoing orders for easy reference. Orders progressed through stages—New, Accepted, Ready for Delivery/Pickup, and Out for Delivery—to give vendors clear visibility over each order’s status. This approach reduced clutter and allowed vendors to quickly identify the stage of each order, enhancing operational efficiency.
Since launching the MVP, Tukshopp has been tested by early users, and we’re collecting valuable feedback to refine and enhance the platform further. Our goal is to iterate based on real-world usage and continuously improve the vendor experience to address evolving market needs. By developing a scalable, user-centric design, we’ve set Tukshopp on a path to make a meaningful impact in the Nigerian delivery market.
